A little bit of Clayton charm will soon be lost with the necessary demolition of the 3 outbuildings behind the Keller Ranch House.

After a historical consultant concluded the buildings do not have historic value and in the interest of safety, the City Council ordered the buildings removed. The Clayton Historical Society has been granted salvage rights.

Mount Diablo continues to amaze hikers with vegetation that has not been seen in decades sprouting from the charred ruins of the Morgan Fire of 2013. For those hikers with sharp eyes, there is a return of insects rarely seen on the mountain and an increase in animal activity.
